Yay! Another meme. I stole this one from [livejournal.com profile] svarenk even though some of my answers were saved from the last time this meme popped up its head and I never got around to posting my answers.

1. Name a movie you've seen more than ten times.
Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, all the Star Wars movies (yes, even the crappy prequels), the Indiana Jones movies (except the last one), anything by George Romero, John Carpenter or John Woo. Anything with Dina Meyer in it. Okay, maybe not *everything* but I've watched some pretty crappy movies repeatedly because of her!

I'd also add The Sound of Music and The Ten Commandments. Not because I'd actively chosen to watch them but because I drew the short straw at work.

Oh, and because my above list is a bit predictable, I'll add Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and Killer Clowns From Outer Space!

2. Name a movie you've seen multiple times in the theater.
Jeez, with today's movie ticket prices who can afford to see a movie more than once? I saw Lord of the Rings at least three times in the theaters. But, the last one I saw *multiple* times would have to be Silence of the Lambs. Mmmm, Jodie Foster!

3. What actor makes you more inclined to see a movie?
Jason Statham. *sigh* He's my big screen boyfriend and, therefore, I must see everything he's in. We almost broke up because of Crank but The Bank Job more than made up for it... despite the lack of shirtlessness.

4. What actor makes you less likely to see a movie?
Tom Cruise, Kate Beckinsale, Mel Gibson, Vincent Gallo

5. What movie are you able to quote from?
I'll go with the easy answer and say Star Wars.

6. What musical do you know all the lyrics to?
Heh, Grease, Rocky Horror Picture Show and now Mamma Mia which, you know, wasn't that hard since I know the lyrics to EVERY Abba song EVER!

7. What movie can you sing along with?
Isn't this the same question as number 6?

8. What movie would you recommend that everyone should see?
Bandits, and not the one starring Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton. No, this one's a German flick about 4 women who form a band while in prison, then break out and go on the run. Which reminds me, I should probably add this to number seven since I can totally sing along with it.

Also Primer, it's a great movie that totally made my head hurt. It's about two guys who build a time machine and, well, things just go downhill from there. Very smart and surprsingly good considering it was made for a mere $7000.

9. What movie do you own?
Uh, I own like 500 DVD's am I seriously supposed to list them *all*?

10. Which actor from another medium has surprised you with his/her acting chops?
I was gonna steal stark's answer and say Queen Latifah but is it really any surprise that she's awesome at whatever she does? So, I'm gonna say Jon Bon Jovi. Sure, he's no De Niro but whenever I see him it's like 'holy shit, that's Jon Bon Jovi!'.

11. Have you ever seen a movie at a drive-in?
Way back when I was a kid.

12. Ever make out at a drive-in?
See #11. Although, there are a few working drive-in's here in Washington so who knows?

13. Is there a movie you meant to see, but haven't?
Too many to name but the current one is Let The Right One In, you know, the *good* movie about teenaged vampires!

14. Have you ever walked out of a movie?
The Scarlett Letter with Demi Moore. Me and a friend went to see and it was soo awful and we were laughing so hard (and getting dirty looks from an old couple in front of us) so we left halfway through and snuck in to see Jade.

15. What movie made you cry?
Oh dear, this is the point where I admit that despite my cynical cool persona I'm a big sap. I mean I'm not breaking out the hanky at the drop of a hat but I more than admit to falling for Hollywood's emotional manipulation every now and then. *Shameful Admission* I got misty-eyed during High School Musical 3, people! HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2!! */shameful admission*.

16. Popcorn?
Popcorn used to be a staple of my movie going experience but an incident involving my gums and a very sharp piece of kernel and I now avoid it like the plague! Nowadays, I go for the nachos, same movie crunch with the added bonus of cheese and jalapenoes!!

17. How often do you go to the movies?
I used to go all the time but with my current financial situation and movies being so crappy these days - very little.

18. Last movie you saw in a theater?
Don't laugh - High School Musical 3. I volunteered to take the BFF's daughters to see it. And, yes, I enjoyed the HELL out of it!

19. Favorite genre?
It used to be horror but with the (American) genre's turn towards 'torture porn' and the propensity to make crappy remakes of good Asian horror films, I've been watching it less and less. So, I'd say SciFi/Fantasy.

20. What was the first movie you saw?
Frankenstein. I'd put this in the category of first movie I *remember* seeing. I have no idea where my parents were because I couldn't have been more than six! I remember I was on the couch, cowering under my blanket and freaking out over the scene where Frankenstein throws the little girl in the water.

21. What movie do you wish you hadn't seen?
Feast. The most misogynistic piece of tripe that made me want to beat everyone involved with a blunt object. Stupid Writer - "Hey, you know what would be funny? A woman forced to fellate an alien! That'd be totally cool". Only except *not*! HATE!!!

22. Weirdest movie you've ever seen?
Wow, I've seen so many weird little movies, it's hard to remember. Probably anything from Troma. Teen Ape was pretty weird. Girl King was weird.. awful but weird.

Oh, I know - Sirens, one of those 'lesbian eroticas' back in the ninties when dykes started making porn only they couldn't just make movies with women fucking, they had to have that art-school pretentiousness that I fucking *hate* from any filmmaker regardless of their orientation. Heh, I should totally upload this and share the awfulness with the class.

23. Scariest movie?
Audition, hell, the trailer *alone* almost made me pee my pants.

24. Funniest movie?
Twilight. Wait? You mean it's *not* a comedy? Sure, technically, I haven't actually *seen* it but the reactions alone have made me feel like I have.

Is this movie big over your way? There was some thing about it on a movie program saying how the lead had become an international sex symbol or something, but I'd be surprised if one person in a thousand has ever heard of the books over here (I only know them because of fembuck's femslash). Mind you, I don't hang out with teenagers, so I could be wrong.

Sirens? I'm guessing it's not the one with Hugh Grant, Tara Fitzgerald and Portia Rossi... that just had lesbian undertones, not art-school porn.

Twilight? Oh God, it's *huge* here! Mind you, it benefited a lot from being hyped to the nth degree for the past six months. And, more importantly, an even bigger boost from Warner Brother's pushing the next Harry Potter back until 2009. Had Twilight mania been competing against Harry Potter mania, I'd surmise it'd be nothing more than a blip on the pop culture radar instead of the juggernaut its become.

I can't believe how many people are doing this meme!
I originally snagged it from someone on my flist and BAM! Ordinarily, I'm not that fond of doing the long ones, but this one was fun.

Heh. "Anything with Dina Meyer."
:)

It's such a fun meme and after missing it the last time around I just couldn't pass it up!

Heh. "Anything with Dina Meyer."

I *swear*, one of these days, she's totally going to reward me for my fannish loyalty! And by 'reward' I mean 'showing up at my doorstep wearing nothing but a big red bow and a smile'!

Oh lord... THAT would be a very, very Merry Christmas, wouldn't it?

Jesus Case only knows when you'd come up for air.
