"According to Amanda she recently found out that all the members of the cast had been approached regarding season 10: MS, CJ, BB as well as CB.
To paraphrase Amanda..."She said she called RCC and asked if the fact she hadn't heard anything meant she should be worried. She was informed that she didn't have anything to be worried about; they just hadn't figured out what they were going to do with her character as of yet. According to Amanda, there is a possibility that she will be working on Atlantis and SG-1. She has no clue as to how many episodes she will be on each. All she knew at this time was that she would be doing 20 episodes and that it may be split between the two shows. How it will be split she is not sure, nor does she know what she will be doing."
And, since this was posted this morning, I expect the shit to *really* start hitting the fan sometime around Monday.
So, the PTB haven't figured out what to do with her character? So, they're going to shuffle her between the two shows? Does it sound like a character/actor is getting the shaft because the PTB lack the imagination to figure out what to do with her? You betcha.
And, I know in the midst of the upcoming flamewar that the people who will be blamed will be Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Farscape, SciFi network, and (if anyone actually has the forethought) TPTB. We already knew they were ball-less when they wouldn't make Sam leader of SG-1 'cuz 'OH NOES, there'd be a woman in charge and white guys 18-35 won't watch that shit!'.
But, ya wanna know who's fault it is? Shippers!! That's right bitches, Jack/Sam shippers, I'm pointing my finger at you! If ya'll hadn't gone absolutely stark raving bugfuck and made your little fen all about whether or not Sam became nothing more than the receptacle for Jack's penis instead of, oh I don't know, giving a crap that TPTB were assassinating Sam to make her vagina the ultimate Crack Jack prize for Jack's penis, maybe this mess wouldn't have occurred. Because, now that Jack's gone, now that half the impetus for the oh-so very fucking annoying 'will they/won't they' bullshit is gone, they don't know what to do with the other half of the equation. Hrmm, *scratches head*, maybe they don't know what to do with her because they spent *way* too much time appeasing YOU fucking people!!
Sam used to be my favorite character. But, when it became apparent that who they were writing the character for was for a vocal minority regardless of the consequences to any of the characters or what it said about men and women working together, I stopped caring. It was bad enough when they killed Janet for some 'preach to the choir' moment that had no affects on the characters once the screen faded to black. Shit, for all the effects the death had on the characters, it could have been any old redshirt. But, I'm not going to join in a fandom 'gnashing of teeth' over something, the stupid J/S ship, that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
